Kate Chopin's One Hour Story can be analyzed through a feminist lens, even though the author never indicated that she was a feminist. The feminist perspective is demonstrated in the theme of the suppression of women. It's obvious that people are all worried about Louise Mallard's reaction when she learns of her husband's death, but that's the case. We all knew she died of grief and discouragement. Finally, verbal irony is visible in the title “The Story of an Hour”. Here the writer tells us that Mrs. Mallard experienced sadness, freedom, happiness, joy and sorrow in one hour. Here we can see Mrs. Mallard's different emotions in a very short period of time.
